The Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) is looking for a Social Media Manager who will help design and deliver its social media strategy and story projects.

The Social Media Manager will work closely with the head of the Editorial Desk and the Executive Director to successfully implement projects under the Editorial Desk, PCIJ's investigative reporting team. S/he will play a leading role in these three streams of work:

Social media

  • Together with the Editorial Desk staff, study, propose, and implement PCIJ's digital innovation plan and social media strategy;
  • Manage and curate content for PCIJ's social media channels;
  • Produce and/or oversee the production of content for PCIJ's social media accounts;
  • Coordinate with project managers on broad and project-specific social media strategies;
  • Evaluate performance/activity on PCIJ's social media accounts and provide regular reports to the Executive Director;

Reporting

  • Assist in managing PCIJ's editorial projects;
  • As the need arises, conduct research, interviews, and fieldwork as required in PCIJ's editorial projects;
  • Participate in proofreading and fact-checking PCIJ's editorial products;
  • Assist in production work related to PCIJ's books and other editorial projects;

Training

  • Conduct training programs for the PCIJ staff to support the implementation of PCIJ's digital innovation plan and social media strategy;
  • Assist in and participate in seminar-workshops led by the Training Desk as resource person, as the need arises; and
  • Participate in seminars for the journalism community, journalism schools, civil society, and other partners of the PCIJ, as the need arises.
