The Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) is holding the 3rd Investigative Journalism Conference or “IJcon” at the Novotel Hotel in Quezon City from April 30 to May 2, 2024. The three-day conference, which will mark the 35th founding anniversary of the PCIJ, will gather more than 100 journalists and communicators, civil society representatives, and academic experts from across the Philippines.

PCIJ Board of Editors chairman Horacio “Howie” Severino will deliver the keynote address and lead a panel discussion on the theme of this year’s IJcon: “Innovating Investigative Journalism: Towards Collaboration and Public Engagement.” The conference will also feature three plenary sessions and four sets or a total of 12 breakouts sessions on various issues. The conference program is attached. You may also check the conference microsite at www.pcij.org/ijph2024

The IJcon is supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The conference was designed to offer a learning, sharing, and capacity building venue for the participants to appreciate the importance of investigative journalism and watchdog journalism amid the increasingly challenging political and information environments.
