Jinggoy: Corona has no excuse

SENATOR-JUDGE Jinggoy Estrada cast a guilty vote against Chief Justice Renato Corona in the impeachment trial, saying that Corona had no excuse since he was supposed to be the highest magistrate in the land.

“The most important question is, itong limang properties, apat na dollar accounts ay dineklara ba ?” Estrada said. “Ang sagot po ay hindi.”

Estrada brushed off claims by the defense that the Chief Justice had acted in good faith when he did not declare his dollar accounts.

“The Chief Justice is a learned man. He is in fact the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court… isang opisyal na may tungkulin na alamin ang ibig sabihin ng batas.”
